Top 5 Mascaras – My Reviews

The number 1 question I get from my clients on beauty products is, “What is you favorite……?”.  Every makeup artist has their favorite products and most of them will tell you that they do not stick to just one brand.  I definitely don’t just use one brand.  I use everything from e.l.f to MAC and to Christian Dior.

Let’s talk about mascaras…

When it comes to mascaras, I am very picky!  I want the right formulation, the right brush, the right color and will it be right for that particular client.  I have tried tons of mascaras in the last 7 years and have found lots of great ones but currently, these are my favorites.

5) Maybelline Great Lash – The Great Deal

In my opinion (and a lot of other makeup artist), this is the best drugstore buy.  It has been around for a long time and it is classic and known in the industry as one of the best waterproof mascara.

4) MAC Mascara X – The Great Brush

It promises to build longer, thicker and glossier lashes and I have to agree that it does.  The best part about this mascara is the football shaped brush.  It doesn’t clump and it gives great separation.  It is a great mascara for those who like to layer their mascara.

3)Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Singulier – The Great New Mascara

This mascara promises to give you volume, curl and length.  My favorite product from YSL is Touche Eclat and I am adding this mascara to that very short list.

2) Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara – The Great Color

The name says it all. If you are a “sexy BADgal” who wants a blacker, thicker and bodacious lashes, this mascara is for you.  This is the mascara that I use when I want dramatic eyes without any eyeshadow.  A BADgal and a red lipstick are all I need when I am in the mood for a little adventure.

1) Dior DiorShow Mascara – The Great NO eyelash curler needed mascara.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Glamorous!  It promises to thicken, lengthen and curl.  I use this mascara on more than 75% of clients.  It works on just about everyone.   When I want a mascara for myself, 90% of the time this is what I use.  I have short and straight lashes and this mascara works wonders.

Tips – Clean your brush and wand after every use to avoid the clumps.

Tricks – Use an eyeliner brush to use your mascara as an eyeliner.
